I oversee a team of peer advisors and all together we manage a caseload of over 300 student veterans. My duties include training new advisors, performing outreach to our student veterans, and maintaining the Veterans Resource Center where students can come for personalized assistance. We assist with navigating the college environment and adjusting to civilian life, including help with enrollment, tutoring, and more. In a typical week I log dozens of student interactions. |
As a student peer advisor, I assisted online students with navigating the resources Eastern Oregon University has to offer and I was the face of the EOU presence at Chemeketa Community College in Salem. My efforts resulted in multiple students making the decision to enroll at EOU. As a tutor for the computer science department, I held open office hours for CS students to receive help with their homework and study questions. |
I worked on the engineering team for the launch of the Maxis franchise “SimAnimals” on the Nintendo DS. The project was written in C++ with some ARM assembly. My primary software contributions were to the GUI, camera, and event systems. Additionally, I built an animation visualization tool for the art team, drastically reducing the time and effort required to examine sprites on actual hardware. |
I graduated cum laude from Eastern Oregon University with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and a 3.82 GPA. I also earned a minor in Communication Studies, which included digital design, group communication, intercultural considerations, and leadership skills. For my capstone project I led a team of students to create a full stack web application. My graduate research project demonstrates Ricoh 2A03 assembly for the Nintendo Entertainment System. |
